A young man's past mistakes come back to haunt him when a new girl comes into his life. The best movies of 2015 were a mixed bag, from an ambitious sci-fi flick about time travel in "Interstellar" to the laugh-a-minute caper starring Kevin Hart and Dwayne Johnson in "Central Intelligence." But for sheer entertainment value, nothing beats the indie romcom "Hasee Toh Phasee," which has been dubbed India's answer to "When Harry Met Sally." The couple meets in college, and she is in a relationship with another guy. That doesn't stop our hero from pursuing her. But it turns out that our leading man's past is the main obstacle to the happy ending we all know is coming. To make things worse, his potential love interest has issues of her own, including a jealous ex-boyfriend who refuses to let her go easily. It's an unusual setup for a rom-com, but it's executed with enough skill that the audience never feels cheated. We are so wrapped up in the sweet romance set to some killer old Hindi songs that are actually older than our leading man. Farhan Akhtar is one of the most talented composers in Bollywood today, and he proves it with this movie. Perfect for fans of "Slumdog Millionaire" and "The Fault in Our Stars."
